Couple of questions????????

v8manic created the topic: Couple of questions????????

Hi guys's yes i'm still around and still slowly building up my first boat. Have finally gotten the deck plug done and i'm in the process of installing rails.
I've read somewhere it's better to run the rails all the way forward and in other post i've read to just run them a few inchs in front of engine. In your opinions what do you guys think works best.

Other question is what's the best way to hook up my carb to my servo, went to local bike shop and bought some brake cables but am having second thoughts about this, any help would be great cause i'm kinda stuck right now.

Cheers Wade

Hi Wade
By rails I assume you mean stringers ... I am no pro but on the one's I build I run them close to what I need to mount everything, but it depends on the hull strength too I guess. I do sport boats so my hulls are made a little heavier. Maybe the race guys can answer this better.
For the thottle look at Gizmo's stuff in the add to the right he sells a nice kit.

Good Luck ... Have Fun..........

I've seen boats crack and/or fold where the rails end. I prefer a boat that has rails(stringers)all the way forward. It also helps support the tank or fuel bag and gives you something to wedge the pool noodle between. Most boat builders these days don't bother running them much past the engine location though.
