Also what is the weight of your hull and set up?

weight is between 15-20 lbs thanks for the advice. Im so happy with the way my boat handles. it sits and rides perfectly in the water. i just cant get the accerelation and speeds in looking for. I think the x470 prop might be too much for the weedy. i was advised to use a propshop 7016, or a pranther 270. But i think i need less pitch because i cant get any rpms at full throttle. there are just so many to choose from. you experts propbably know?

This is my wooden 41 inch with a 25cc weedy motor and a Octura X472 prop.
Should give you some idea how your deep V should be running!

ur boat seems to be pretty quick. you have good al around take off speed and smooth motor revs. the x472 is very similar to my x470. Do you know the differences between them?

should that help me gain any improvements at all? i think a smaller prop might help, but i really dont know much about these props?

Before buying a new prop, I'd start with sharpening and balancing the one you have & maybe raising the strut to see if it helps.

i have already changed and adjusted the strut angles and the prop is ready to run its smooth. i think i gonna get a high pitch or myabe a 3 blade prop.

to help you with info on your boat the engine in stock form won't do anymore than 8500 rpm so there for you will only get it to go better is to re rout your shaft sub suface approx 1/2 inch below keel line on the centre of shaft with 270 prathe on the back and it shouls get you some more speed .failing that massage the engine for more.

Try a bigger prop with less pitch,i prefer the prather 280 props for weedy engines,or try the prather 275 both good props.Its not the rpm you want its a BIG prop in my opinion.Weedy engines dont rev high enough to make use of the smaller higher pitch props.

Looking at it his drive looks like it is exiting the hull far too high?
A lot higher than I run any of mine anyway.
So Im guessing his strut and prop would be fairly well in line with his exit hole?
I drill mine through so the bottom of the hole (drillbit) is just skimming the inside of the 1/8 ply sheeting.



Better position in my opinion!
Could be your prop is sitting too high and not running enough blade in the water surface?
Reaching max revs but only moving half the amount of water+ Cavitating on start!
