My new boat !!!

Are you using a square ended flex at the motor? if so your fine if not you need a gap between drive dog and strut to stop it binding as the cable shrinks under load. Also yes your strut is too high ,where you are now the prop will want to pull the hull down at the transom.Set it lower as stated and the hull should run drier and the prop will unload much better.Still say bigger prop less pitch will be your best bet.

yeah its 1/4 flex shaft out of the weedy. i took a level and placed it under my boat strut is just about flush with the buttom of the boat. so half of my prop will be under the water. one blade is half under the boat. less pitch more diameter for my next prop. i was thinking about getting a 678 octra its 78 mm diameter and 4.91 pitch, and its 1.6 ratio, but i have no clue what this thing will do at all, im shooting in the dark.

Hi,
You mentioned that you were looking at a 78mm prop. That is a lot of prop for the weedy engine. Do as Martno says and drop the flexshaft lower through the transom and stick with the x470 or x472 prop. Myself I would actually be looking at a x467 to let that engine unwind. I am sure you will notice the difference. That's my 2 cents worth, hope it helps.

do u think that the step down form a X470 to a 467 would be a large change? my motor max at 12,500 with no load on it. I know with that X470 i am not ever getting close to the max rpms. But the low end take off is just catiation, BUT THAT IS DUE TO THE POOR ANGLES OF MY STRUT.
