prowler vs wildthing

dwr9 replied the topic: Re: prowler vs wildthing

There have been a number of the 72" hulls built, with mixed reviews. Some have had success with it, others don't like it at all. I never built one, so I don't really know how it works from personal experience. Also, it's just a big boat for most people. Doug

Dont be sorry bud in my eyes your not hijacking this thread your asking good questions and may help others who want to know,I think this is what a forum is for asking Questions lol, not to step on Dougs toes about his hulls but my 48" hull lifts good with a weedy engine in it,and i know a proper engine is going tobe a hand full.So i can juat think what a longer hull is going to be like with speed and lift o boy bring on fun times     :woohoo:

Thanks Larry

Any opinion on the inline twins? Heard the older generation motors had problems with the motor coupler and relaibility was/is an issue. This is probably one of my biggest hesitation on going toward the 72" hull. Damn gotta the hull lines are very nice. The Prowler on the other hand seem like a quick and nice build for a fast hull.

Another question, has anyone tried installing a stern drive on the monos i/o of the typical surface drives. I know both, the Wildthing and Prowler, do not have the transom height needed to install one (min 130mm) but 72" definitely has!

Appreciate everyone's inputs.

I am in the midst of building the prowler and is wondering if anyone tried putting a Graupner Jet Pulpusion 5 pump on a deep-vee like the Prowler or similar? thanks

Why not get out your calculator and build a 72 inch Prowler.

Hey RCGasBoats... It wasn't the prowler, but one of my own designs that I installed the Graup on... I think it's under the header "My first build". I never got any video, but I did post some pics of it running. It was just to play around with. I think I had a 20cc weedwacker on it. Been so long ago I can't remember. Wasn't real fast but it was a blast to drive!!!!
