Hi here is some short vids of my wildthing the very first run and the collet was not tight lol. And the other vido is the 2nd run but my prop was to big a x678 and the boat keeps torque rolling at half throttle lol.I do have a 6717/3 witch is going on in the morn and seeing if this stops the torque roll.

Check out my third Prowler at Youtube "hot mango.AVI". Or in the MGB pics. Prop and shaft set up is unconventional with shaft Through the keel like a real drag boat. I found surface drives and stingers made the boat run a bit too wet. My favorite prop is 7014/2. I love these boats.
Thanks Doug, your plan is an easy build and the boat performs.

Is this the correct Link?

The caption reads "Brian's 48" modified Prowler r/c gas boat
prop walking on maiden run. Home built from 3mm ply, sealed
with epoxy and powered by a stock Zenoah 260PUM the boat is
a brute to drive but a lot of fun."

Nice work on the Prowler!

P.S. I'm curious why the Prowler video got listed under the "Hot
Mango" titles? I thought that was a little spicey for our
family channel standards we try to uphold. I can see now I did
not get as far from "spicey" as I was hoping for.

Admins: If I goofed here and you know any way to repair or
clean this up then please work your magic. I just wanted to make
it easy for everyone to see the impressive results this Prowler
is producing.

Hi this is a update with the 6717/3 alum prop, it helps with torque roll but don't seam to move as fast with this prop.I might try a x470 or even a 7016 or 6719   .But that day we never had togo into the pond for my boat

This is a small vido of my boat and the red one i made for a friend with lots of help form good friends.

I run a 6717/3 on my Prowler with a mod G260PUM and it's quite fast.
Brcaward, if your boat was running too wet with a surface drive, something wasn't set up right. I have to either put negative in the stinger or put the tabs down to make it run tight. Doug

"hot mango" is the boats name- it's a long story! The YouTube upload is my first and the video is alongside cooking videos hehehe. It is in "entertainment" because I could't find "hobbies" as a category. I could use some help here. The prop on the boat in the video is a 7014/2 with rounded ears. I started with the 6717/3 blade but for this boat the 7014/2 is much better. I'm no prop expert but On my "wet running" boats I think the 3 blade pointed ears gives the stern too much lift. Regardless, I love these things.

hi Doug, thanks. For the record I am your number 1 fan. The design is simple and your advice sound. something seems amiss in the way I construct these beauties. I am at a loss to understand exactly what. E.g in previous comments you have advised the motor should be as close to the forward bulk head as possible and this was the case with my previous two boats. But, Both ran very wet. I now have it at approximately 15 1/2" from the transom. This may explain why I get a better result with the shaft and prop combo I run. I have run 6717/3 blade props but on this boat the new shaft and keel setup work better.

Hi Larry, thanks for the feedback. Yes, this boat runs a 7014/2 blade with rounded ears. I have a below keel shaft setup and the motor at 15 1/2 " from the transom. I have gone to a strut setup also because I don't believe the Teflon bushes in the stingers are as sturdy as a "lazy boy" brass bush. Ps. The paint job on your baby is fantastic.
