New Venom boats

zukman created the topic: New Venom boats

I am looking at buying the new Venom King of Shaves boat. Has anyone been able to get one of these yet? I am a little confused if venom is on the first or second production run on the and there is a few videos on you tube showing them run.

I like the large cat hull and there isnt much of a chance there will be anyone to race in utah other than a friend who is buying one to, so im not worried about being competitive with others just us.

If anyone has any info I would appreciate it.

Thanks

I hate to comment on this, but I also hate to see people spending their hard earned $$$ on boats that they THINK will be all that the companies advertise but end up disappointed. PLEASE just keep in mind if you do get one of these boats, that they ARE NOT the best you can get from gas boats, actually far from it. The powerplants are not the same as what you will typically see here on MGB.com and do not perform anywhere near the same. They can be a cheap way to get into the hobby, but they might discourage you from staying in also...just keep all this in mind.

If I may give my honest opinion, if you want to buy RTR boats that come with good equipment and engines, look into the Warehouse Hobbies lineup, the Bonzi Sports lineup. These are the kind of RTR's I would recommend to first timers. They are built on solid hulls and use good motors that can be upgraded later on...they dish out twice the hp than these others (even in stock form). It's all about the quality...you will pay maybe a little bit more, but you will be glad you did.

Just my opinion guys. The Venom boats LOOK good though.

I have to agree with Marc. I am by no means an expert, there are a lot of people on this site and others that could out run and out-tech me to death - but I am so glad that I did not buy into these company's hype of their products of RTR gas boats. The lack of performance and quality surely would have dampened my enthusiasm, and I would have had to buy another boat to get the performance that I have now. Good entry level equipment is out there, new and used. Do your homework. Sure it is possible to upgrade, but an underpowered, oversized boat will never perform like one built and set to run as it should. The zenoah copy engines and some of the other manufacturers certainly do not perform like a Zen, even in stock form.

I have to agree with Marc as well.
I made that mistake, bought rtr(which was far from being rtr) , and going to end up spending as much $$ as i would pay for good kit... I found about the Ware house hobbies and other similar suppliers , makers little too late after the fact. Lockal rc shop im dealing with have quiet a few boats (don't have venom)but all the rtr beside nice look have very questionable hull quality and kind of shows week power delivery \"solutions\".I don't know im a new around boat , but it does not take time to get the idea where the quality is. Personally would never by rtr again regardless the price.Maybe Venom boats are really as good as their marketing campaign, i guess we will find out soon.

Yes what i dont under stand about these companys how can thay say that there boat is a quality made boat when claerly thay are not . thay make out that there boat is like the big segad that i think is 93inch long now i may be rong but i think there is one out there .
these hulls like the one pictured in my other posting are avalable for $380us$(120 post delived).with 3 diffrent paint jobs.. or if you perchase 10 hulls thay are even cheeper. out of china .as i placed a order and cancaled it . the running gear is the same as the \"so caled segad\"\" thant is adverticed . with its round steel pipe .and verry under powed motor and the most flimzzy hull ever . shore the paint job looks ok but realy if you dont have good running gear or hart in your boat whats the use of paying to much $$$ for somthing your young 7 yo can ride there bike faster then.....have a close look the hulls are identical.... and yes the manufactor sead that its cheeper to just sell them a compeat package not hull only as ive alreddy going down that path ,that is from the holesaler in china....

these hulls are just like the ebay cheep hulls verry cheeply made and water cooled brush cutter engenes with zero power in them...give it one year and these will be flooding ebay for about 400. to 700.like all the other cheep ones ..........
i realy cant beleve the hype over this boats and realy the stringers arent even glassed in just a bit of appoxy glue holding them in......if thay were for sale for there real price . then you might think about one . but when you can buy a great 26 zenouh for $200. or a sikk 25.4 for $250. and realy good rudder struts for about $100. to $220. and a great hull from one of the meany \"good quality builders at verry resonable prices . why would you bother with somthing thay is only going to cost you lots more to get running up to speed..... and have to reinforce to get it to handle a desent motor....:silly: :silly: :silly: :silly:
dont get taken for a ride , its better to go ride your bike and keep looking past the nice paint:silly:
heres the boats i was going to get some of $389.us$

Thanks for the thoughts... Like I said before It will be me and 1 friend running boats for sure. I dont want to throw down the money for a custom boat right now and I can get the venom wholesale so I think I will go that route. The company that makes the venom boat also makes the aquacraft v24 boat but it uses a different motor. The motor is \"based off a Zenoah\" and looking at it I would be that it is. They have the model number of the motor as 260pum. I can ditch the jr radio on ebay and recoop a few dollars, and swap the carb and pipe. With some porting and a prop change it should be ok.

a motor can look like meany things but you will have to spend more to getting also new servos . a proper 1/4 strut flex shaft . you would be better of getting a blackjack 55 or a large arrow shark and just spending a cupple of dollars on replacing the motor in these then one of those cheep rubish segad . pretend boats...... look as a freand of mine sead tonight a segad looks good on disply but you realy want it to play dont you. and once you replce every thing on it and add more glass to hold it together you realy could have perchased a nother boat and had dubble the funn at half the co:side: st........ .:side:
