Thanks Allot (JRCBD)

I was on the dock last night and did not see this thread.....What a shame. I found jrcbd.com about 5-6 years ago and it is the foundation of my boating sucess today. I think Jim needed to do this and i dont blame him one bit. I think once the site is back up it should be with out any of the people who put Jim in the postion to shut the site down.I also think the site should now be 100% politic free. If you want to talk impba and namba do it on the official websites and let them handle it.Like Jim put it, if its no longer fun why do it.

Don't blame Jim a bit I wouldn't have let it go on either. Back to building I just hope my hands don't shake to much from the Jim withdraws:laugh:

Yes Thanks Marc for letting us come here. I only use the chat once in a while, I just try and stay out of the way.

But like many I got caught up in it and posted. I have talked to several people today from all over and none are mad at each other which is good. Like many I am sure Jim's will be back in awhile. May all have a very Merry Christmas. :drinks:

Being from oversea's I didn't see the post regarding the topic in question. We have enough politics here. I am surprised to see the whole jrcbd closed down. I don't know if deleting the related topics would have been a better way? Hope things can get back on track and get it back up and back on line. We have lost a great asset, I have been on Jims and MGB for about 4 years and have learn't most of what I know off of these two forums. I feel kind of lost without it. :(

Jim,Marc and all the other people involved in keeping forums up and running put a lot of effort in and I would like to thank them now.:drinks: Hope things get sorted.

Great to see MGB so busy.

It is sad that one or two threads seem have to been the straw that broke the camel's back as it were. But people should not think this is a racer versus sport boater thing. Not all racer's are like some of the people who caused the shutdown. 99.999999% of the racer's I know are great people who will bend over backwards to help you.

And keep in mind that almost all the innovation in our hobby comes out of racing. WIthout racer's pushing the envelope we might all still be running Homelite powered boats doing 20MPH tops.

Things will cool down, the winter cabin fever will subside and I am certain that Jim's will be back. In the meantime there are other forums that do a great job, this one included.

Merry Christmas to all of you and keep in mind that if Jim's going offline for awhile seems bad to you give a thought to the nearly 200,000 American troops sitting in Iraq and Afghanistan wondering if they are going to live to see the next day. My brother is one of them and compared to that everything else seems sort of silly.

I love the chat here and have great friends in it. Maybe MGB will be the new "Dock". I wouldn't mind it..

What a sad situation. My feelings are that there should NO discussion involving IMPBA/NAMBA allowed, that simple. Hopefully Jim will allow us a second chance with this great tool.

I am still very new to the sport and want to race. I have always wondered why we have NAMBA and IMPBA? With so little numbers why so many different rules and guidelines? Don't we run the same boats? Anyways It was very sad to see the other site go down, what a great source for newbies like me to read and learn about the sport. Jim and Marc you have both done a great job with these sites.

I just had to vent. The truth is I saw the sticky message on the discussion but not being a racer I had not really followed the threads. so to log on to that message was a bit of a surprise. That mixed with the withdraws and poof you have the first post in this thread.Sorry if it offended anyone.

BillSOCAL I know it not a racer vs sport boater thing. I was simple implying that the thread or threads that broke that camels back should have only been post in but racers and it was probable only a few that where the reason.

I visited Jim's once in a blue moon..... It was (hopefully will be again) a great site. Its a shame. Racer vs Sport boater; Namba vs IMPBA? Blah. We're all Model boaters, it doesnt matter whether you run for a release or for a trophy. If you look at us by the numbers; we're a small part of the R/C community; maybe larger than the heli pilots... LOL MGB has been a source of information and sharing about this hobby for me since I switched to Gas in 07. Truth is these sites are where we can can share; and for the time being this is the best resource we have left. We should try to keep it thriving, and cordial, and maybe Jim will be inclined to give it a go sooner than later. Marc - can the server and site handle the higher traffic???
